Sure U36Jc can ditch the optical drive, but packs Core processor i5 460m (generation "old" Nehalem), NVIDIA GeForce 310M graphics card, 4GB of RAM, USB 3.0, and 500GB 7200RPM hard drive in only $ 969. Okay, it's not the latest Intel Sandy Bridge, but there are many other reasons to think those who are looking for an ultraportable unless a large U36Jc should be considered.
