We know for some time that RIM is going all-in NFC (not all?), But it is understood that they were going to retroactively as well. NFC payment trial getting under the rim and Bank of America to select testers to get back in the NFC is compatible with the Curve 8520 or 8530, Tour 9630, or Bold 9000, 9650 or 9700 - in other words, most models portrait QWERTY society for the last couple of years. You'll also need an active account with Bank of America, so you can take advantage of their "Berry is an NFC terminal you get paid for it. Costs will begin this spring, not the word when it might be open to all.
